Today we are on the border with Milan, in Cusago. A place immersed in the tranquility and greenery of the South Park, ideal for spending a weekend with the family immersed in nature. Cusago boasts numerous farms still active and several monuments of great artistic and historical interest. We begin our visit by walking through the vast, well-tended woods and visiting one of the countless farmhouses, where we have the opportunity to touch the typical agricultural life, from milking cows to harvesting wheat. We continue by visiting Santa Maria Rossa, also known as Santa Maria del Bosco, an abbey built by the Augustinian friars in the second half of the fourteenth century. We stop to admire the particular frescoes of the internal walls. We continue by visiting the Mulino Grande, which contains all the history of the construction and operation of the mills. Finally, we come to the most important monument in the town of Cusago, the Catello, formerly a place of recreation and hunting lodge of the Conti and Sforza families. We say goodbye to Cusago, awaiting the feast of agriculture and Cusago in fiore, where, every year, tens of hundreds of people come to admire the vast range of plants on offer.
