We are located in Tuscany, in Grosseto, more precisely in a village perched on the Metalliferous hills, and in the Maremma Grossetana, we are in the ancient Roccastrada. This town, which at first sight resembles a nativity scene, was built in medieval times on a hill as a possession of the Aldobrandeschi family. In 1300 it came under the dominion of the Sienese who began the exploitation of the nearby copper and silver mines and controlled the area until 1500. Rich in churches, about thirty, between the major and minor ones, it also has many churches that can be visited by long walks, such as Pieve di Caminino, the Fattoria Lattaia. Also worth visiting is the abbey of San Salvatore and the chapels, which are ten in all. The Teatro dei Concordi from 1870, the Palazzo del Capezzolo from 1500, Villa Tolomei and the Clock Tower. One of the features that most distinguishes the area, however, is the presence of many city walls and castles. There is no shortage of areas rich only in unspoiled nature, to be explored on foot such as the Farma nature reserve, or La Pietra, the wildlife oasis of Monte Leoni and the Biotope of Sassoforte.
