Campofilone: a town in the Marche at about 200 meters above sea level. The landscape shows how the green land kisses the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. In the medieval historic center, which to access it you have to cross a small door with a stone arch, along ancient streets, we come to the presence of the ancient church of San Bartolomeo. An important stop for the visitor is the liturgical museum of the abbey of Campofilone. Some texts of the time tell how Campofilone was already a thriving village, with many monks and land holdings. Inside the museum there is a very rich and ancient collection: liturgical vestments and objects of religious use. The vestments were sewn using precious and precious gold laminated fabrics, with the addition of the coat of arms of the abbots of Campofilone. Around the year 1100, in the abbey, a walkable part was added in the southern part and adorned in every corner. All this wealth was the identity card that attested to the power of the abbots and of the city itself. There are many proofs of the presence of man already from the Roman-Picene age. The name Campofilone seems to derive from the presence on the spot of a rich laundress. In the documents of that time, the wording 'campo fulloni', or 'laundress's field', appeared. Along the coast we find an enchanting seaside resort, Marine di Campofilone with over 1500 meters of beach. Campofilone can also boast a culinary attraction that is the very thin egg pasta, now known and appreciated all over the world. In the first ten days of August since 1964, the typical festival is held which bears the name of 'Macaroni Festival'.
