The natural beauties of Vigo di Fassa

Vigo di Fassa is a town in the province of Trento. As the name suggests, it is located in the center of the Val di Fassa and is surrounded by the Dolomites. This mountain range has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts thousands of visitors each year fascinated by its spectacular landscapes. The naturalists' paradise are also the woods rich in interesting plant species that can be admired through a well-organized network of paths. Obligatory stop is Lake Carezza in whose waters the Dolomites are reflected, creating a fairytale environment. This territory has been inhabited since the Mesolithic and many finds from this period are exhibited in the Ladin Museum of Fassa. Among the main religious buildings we find the Church of Santa Giuliana and the Church of San Giovanni. Since 1800 Vigo di Fassa has become a renowned tourist destination and among the illustrious people who have stayed here we find Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie and the King of Belgium.
