The Passo del Rombo, an exciting itinerary for cyclists and motorcyclists

The Passo del Rombo (or Timmelsjoch, in German) is an alpine pass that connects the Val Passiria with the Ötztal. The route is limited only to cars, motorcycles, bicycles and small caravans or trucks; this since the route is characterized by narrow sharp-angled curves and a slope that is oriented around 12%. The climb leads up to 2509 meters above the sea level. This quality and the others previously exposed make the Passo del Rombo an intriguing destination for cyclists and motorcyclists interested in an exciting experience, surrounded by the green and white of the Rhaetian Alps. A trip to the Passo del Rombo can be divided into five stages, one for each of the monumental (and sometimes museum) stops that dot the itinerary: with an angular and strongly geometric architecture, the structures immerse us well in the mountain environment. We start with the Museum of the Pass (to find out as much as possible about the history of the Timmelsjoch), and then continue with the Telescope, the two sculptures called Granati (inspired by the geological formations of the place), the Transit (museum on architecture and road that runs along the Pass) and the Ponticello, an ideal panoramic stopping point suspended over the void.
