The Battle Museum and the two historical itineraries in Ceresole d'Alba

In 1544 in Ceresole d'Alba a great battle was held between the French and the imperials, who were competing for possession of the Piedmontese lands. To commemorate that historic event, thanks to European funds, a museum called the Battle Museum was created. Two itineraries start from the museum, one urban and one extra-urban. The first describes a ring inside the city and is 700 meters long. Walk through the gardens, where there are illustrative panels, and the town hall. Especially in the town hall you can see the frescoes room. Here are preserved the frescoes detached from the Buontempo church, which was part of the battle scenario and which was also partially destroyed in that conflict. The extra-urban itinerary, on the other hand, is 14 kilometers long and lasts more than 3 hours, leading the visitor to the countryside around Ceresola d'Alba where the fighting took place. In this way you can visit the small church, the farmhouses used as warehouses for weapons, and you can admire a curious tree which is a mulberry tree on which a cherry tree has grown, which is the symbol of the city.
