nature useful information
Locate di Triulzi is part of the metropolitan city of Milan and, together with other small municipalities, constitutes its green lung. In fact it is part of the South Agricultural Park and is located on the left bank of the Lambro river. The inhabitants are about 10,000 and, although it is located a short distance from the big city to which it is very well connected by public transport, it is a true oasis of peace and greenery. This area became important following the reclamation that was carried out in ancient times, which allowed a marshy area to become fertile and prosperous. The person to whom the growth of Locate di Triulzi is most closely linked is the Marquise Cristina di Triulzi (later Princess of Belgioioso) to whom she owes the second part of the toponym. An emancipated woman of great intelligence, she managed to transform a small peasant village into one of the most advanced places in Italy with her fervent patriotism. Today the local economy is still based on agriculture, especially rice cultivation, but also on trade. In fact, not far from the city center is the Scalo Milano City Style, a commercial hub for high fashion.
