Lying on the slopes of the Venetian Dolomites characterized by unspoiled landscapes and expanses of countryside in an area marked by its waters, stands Ferra d'Alpago one of the most characteristic villages of the Veneto region. At the village Le Rotte there is a small Cimbrian center, an ancient population of Germanic Danish origin; the Cansiglio forest is suggestive, which with its countless paths and itineraries allows visitors to carry out numerous activities. The forest is managed by Verito dell'Agricoltura, a company that manages the forest assets of the Veneto region. The whole plain of the forest is occupied by agro-zootechnical companies that have an organic reality that bring the milk to the Tambre cooperative, where it is processed as cheese. Walking along the paths of the woods you come across ancient stone bridges dating back to Roman times, and then reach the sanctuary of the Madonna della Roulant where the feast of the Madonna Bernari is held every 8 September. The culinary tradition of Farra d'Alpago is characterized by simple flavors linked to the territory characterized by mushrooms, beans, game, polenta and salami.
