Aosta is an Italian town of about 31,000 inhabitants, the capital of the Valle d'Aosta region. The city is located in the middle of the valley, on the plain where the Dora Baltea river flows, in a valley surrounded by mountains. Its position strongly affects its climate, which tends to be alpine and with very cold winters.
