Bassano del Grappa is a town of 42,000 inhabitants in the province of Vicenza which despite its small size offers a lot to see for tourists. The symbol of the town is the Ponte Vecchio or Ponte degli Alpini. It stands on the Brenta river and has undergone several renovations due to the war and floods. In its vicinity are the famous Grapperia Nardini and the Museo degli Alpini which collects numerous finds and testimonies of the First World War. Also noteworthy is the garden of Palazzo Sturm where you have an enchanting view of the city. The interesting Museum of Ceramics dedicated to the Marquis Giuseppe Roi is also located here. Also not to be missed is the Poli Grappa Museum where enthusiasts can learn a lot about the distillation of this alcohol that has made Bassano famous all over the world. Points of great interest and the beating heart of the city are Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza Libertà which are separated by the picturesque Loggia del Comune. Here there are also some magnificent frescoed houses.
