The city of Rivisondoli overlooks the five-mile plateau and is the most important ski area in central and southern Italy. Its breathtaking panorama blends the candied white of the snow with the colors of nature. The town developed around the year 1000 as a fortified center, it is its lanes and its ancient gateways that tell us about the history of the town. The town's economy is mainly based on tourism thanks above all to the ski resort that welcomes thousands of visitors every year. The complex born in 1951 has seen many illustrious personalities from the world of sport pass through to host the European championships. Monte Pratello is a company that was born with the aim of creating the attraction of skiing in the south center thanks also to its projects. Its slopes are known above all for its differences in height between the slopes starting from a base of 1300 m up to reach an altitude where the meters become 2050. To characterize the track all over the world is the track called 'La Direttissima' with a difference in altitude of 631 m has been classified as one of the most beautiful slopes in Italy. The slopes are suitable for everyone as there are different levels from the easiest to the most difficult, the facility offers discounts and promotional packages for tourists. The history of the living nativity scene is linked to the Civic Art Gallery of the municipality which collects the works that were inspired by the living nativity scene.
