We are in the lower Po Valley, in a small but very famous village and birthplace of Luciano Ligabue: Correggio. We immediately enter the town, discovering this wonderful town, walking under the arcades on the main cobbled street. There are many attractions to see: the basilica, the Renaissance palace, the fortresses, the towers, the eighteenth-century palaces and the nineteenth-century houses. Corso Mazzini reveals its symbolic buildings; the arcades lead us to the Old Town, the oldest neighborhood in the city, where we visit the workshop and home of Antonio Allegri, to whom a monument is dedicated which stands towards the Basilica of San Quirino. Its bell tower is the symbol of the ancient beauty of this enchanting village. Still, we admire the Palazzo dei Principi, center of the culture of the village, the Bonifazio Asioli theater and the Church of San Francesco, guardian of Correggio, is the oldest in the city and burial place of the da Correggio and the painter Antonio Allegri. Whether you are a fan of Ligabue or a lover of enchanted villages, Correggio is the village for you.
