About fifty kilometers from Florence, on the slopes of Montalbano in the Valdarno, we take you to the discovery of Vinci, the birthplace of the famous Leonardo. Inside the medieval village there is the Leonardian museum divided into three locations not far from each other: Palazzina Uzielli, the Conti Guidi Castle and the Villa il Ferrale. The idea of dedicating a museum to Leonardo in his hometown was born during the fourth centenary of his death, when the Castello dei Conti was donated to the municipality of Vinci together with some models reconstructed on the basis of Leonardo's ones. Inside the Castle there are in fact the models and machines that document the interests in war, architecture, mechanics, flight and three sections dedicated to hydraulics. The villa, on the other hand, houses all the reproductions of all Leonardo's paintings and some of the most famous drawings. In the Palazzina Uzielli, construction machinery, textile technology, mechanical clocks and anatomical studies are exhibited. At the end of the itinerary is the new room 'Leonardo, anatomy of machines'.
