Big center of Metapontino, Pisticci falls in the province of Matera, located on a medium hill, clinging to the ground, it is characterized by many narrow and particular stairways. Most of the buildings are white in color, giving a unique character to the country. The monuments to visit are many, from the many historical and modern churches, divided among the various districts, of which the oldest and most fascinating is that of Terravecchia. Among the churches we remember those of the Immaculate Conception, of Saints Peter and Paul, of San Rocco, patron saint of the town. Noteworthy are the remains of the Norman castle with the ruins of a square-shaped tower. Do not miss the water tank, the clock tower and especially the enchanting breathtaking view offered by the lookout on the cliff. The heart of Pisticci is represented by Piazza Plebiscito and Corso Margherita where most of the commercial and recreational activities of Pisticci are concentrated. Not to be missed, just outside the city, the Abbey of Santa Maria.
