We entered the city of Volterra entering from Porta all'Arco, a historical monument of Etruscan origin, and we walked up to Piazza dei Priori. We then entered the Palazzo dei Priori and climbed the stairs until we reached the top of the clock tower where we admired the city from above. Then we went to Palazzo Minucci-Solaini where there are the picture gallery and the civic museum that exhibit various works with a religious background and numerous frescoes. From the medieval walls we then admired the remains of the Roman Theater. We then went to the Guarnacci Etruscan Museum which collects a vast collection of urns, ceramics and statuettes including the very famous Ombra della Sera. Finally we went to see the majestic Medici Fortress and went up to the Enrico Fiumi public park where we visited the Etruscan Acropolis where two ancient temples are visible. Our trip to the city of Volterra ends here. We are sure that lovers of Etruscan history and beyond, cannot help but come and admire it.
