Villavallelonga

We are in Abruzzo, in Villavallelonga, formerly known as Rocca D'acero, inhabited since 1600 BC. C. by some shepherds who came from afar, in search of peace. Its name is due to its structure, built at the foot of Mount Quaresima, which took shape in the year one thousand. Feud of the Marsi, of the Piccolomini Dukes of Amalfi, in 1873 a part of its reliefs, formed the first nucleus of the Royal Reserve of the upper Val di Sangro, the future National Park of Abruzzo. Of course, known for excursions and visits to the Park, much of it closed to means of transport, so it is easy to cross it on foot. Visiting it is a unique opportunity to live immersed in nature, to observe wild animals, such as chamois, admire trees and flowers, the immense beech woods, enjoy the forest.
