We are in Bassano del Grappa, the city in the province of Vicenza, at the foot of Monte Grappa. It rises on the Brenta river, a city renowned and famous for its ceramics, grappa and typographic activity. The city still retains many medieval testimonies, its squares its palaces up to the Ezzelini Castle, or upper castle. Its symbol is the old bridge, 64 meters long, with a 4-high wooden canopy, better known as the Alpine bridge, designed by Andrea Palladio. Image of the 15-18 war epic sung by an ancient traditional song. There we find the museum of the Alpine troops, and next to it we find the ancient tavern, where you can taste grappa, the oldest distillery in Italy. Moving to the Museum of Palazzo Sturm we can admire the majolica, the ceramics, in this eighteenth-century building, where it is also possible to admire the rooms of photography and antique prints, a unique collection of rare prints. Piazza Garibaldi is the main square, in the center of which we find the fountain, from 1776 where the church of San Francesco overlooks. Nearby we have the Civic Museum, with the Canova rooms, the oldest in the whole of Veneto.
