Alpago is a geographical region that includes the municipalities of Alpago, Chies d'Alpago and Tambre and is located in the province of Belluno, in Veneto. The places that most characterize and make up this area are Lake Santa Croce and the Cansiglio Forest. Alpago is surrounded by the Belluno Prealps and by some mountains, such as Monte Dolada, Col Nudo, Crep Nudo and Teverone, but also other minor mountains. The video shows a small tour of the Alpago area, and begins near Lake Santa Croce, whose main tributary flows into the heart of the Alpago. Continuing with the road and going up, you arrive at Cansiglio, also known as Piano del Cansiglio. It is a vast plateau of the Belluno Pre-Alps surrounded mainly by the Cansiglio Forest, a space of unspoiled nature, where there is a rich vegetation and a great abundance of beech and coniferous trees. There is no shortage of spaces used for pastures and activities related to pastoralism, in fact the flora and fauna coexist. The animals that cohabit in this large forest are mainly sheep and cattle, relative to grazing, but also deer and roe deer, which push hunting lovers to approach this territory.
