Levanto is a town located on the Ligurian coast in the province of La Spezia. It has 5,500 inhabitants. A charming village not far from the cinqueterre, Levanto has a lot to offer to the visitor. Its charming old town is dotted with delightful old buildings with warm colors and decorated facades. The most interesting buildings in the village are certainly the municipal loggia, with arches from the 13th century and the church of Sant'Andrea, built in 1222 in Ligurian Gothic style, which has a particular two-tone facade with a beautiful rose window and mullioned windows; the interior is also noteworthy with important works of art. Other buildings worthy of mention are the church of San Rocco, the oratory of San Giacomo and the church of the Annunziata with an adjoining convent among the religious buildings, while the Restani house is among the civil buildings. Levanto also has an interesting city wall and a castle, both with a defensive function. Obviously, you cannot miss the delightful promenade of Levanto as well as its beaches with crystal clear waters.
