nature wine and food fun
San Vito Chietino is a wonderful town along the trabocchi coast. Here you can enjoy high quality seaside tourism, thanks to the local beach awarded with the Blue Flag. The panorama that can be enjoyed is the ideal conjunction between sea and mountains. The historic core of the town has a strong ancient flavor, it hosts narrow and characteristic foreshortenings and alleys, as well as the remains of the ancient castle and historic buildings such as the eighteenth-century Palazzo Tosti or Palazzo Renzetti. Outside the town there is one of the most characteristic areas, the Portelle locality, which hosts the Dannunziano Hermitage (a nineteenth-century farmhouse on a promontory overlooking the sea that hosted the famous poet) and one of the most famous overflows of the coast, the Trabocco Blue. San Vito Chietino offers numerous opportunities to experience the typical cuisine of the coast; it is easy to find trabocchi or trattorias where you can try local specialties. Fish broths, “cacio e ove” pallotte, sagne and beans, macaroni alla chitarra or simply the fresh catch of the day: the local menu is very tasty.
