nature fun
A mountainous island that preserves the remains of a volcano and the red color of the lava flow, still lit. From the Port, the path climbs up the cliff to cross the hill towards Cala Zucchetto, the seaside destination. Walking along it, you skirt the Pieve di Santa Maria Assunta, and the promontory opens up to the view, stony and inhabited by bushes of limestone and viperine grass, with some solitary pine, reduced to minimum heights. Yet it is a green island that does not offer shade and reserves the riot of colors where the grass does not grow, but bathes in the sea. The cliffs are very steep, arched in caves and ravines made of different and colorful mineral layers. It is a windy island and the sea must be sought downwind, where it is clear and allows you to enjoy the crystal clear water in relaxation. Going up the coast you have to visit Forte San Giorgio, built on a sheer promontory, very suggestive and with a beautiful terrace where you can admire the view. Before returning to the port, go down to the Grotta beach, paved and structured with an equipped bathroom.
