In the Campo dei Miracoli, amid the enthusiasm of citizens and authorities, with the Tower of Pisa in the background, we celebrate the return of the dromedaries, destined for the San Rossore Estate. The acquisition of the estate, a few kilometers from Pisa, as a hunting reserve dates back to the times of the Medici. In 1600 they brought the dromedaries there for breeding. Their arrival in the Camp was imprinted in a lithograph, proudly displayed. The dromedaries have the task of cleaning the beaches and supporting the weight of tourists on walks in the Park. San Rossore is a green sea of secular pines that Cosimo III, at the end of 1700, planted to obtain wood and pine nuts. In the trek you can meet fallow deer, roe deer and wild horses. It is a spectacular forest that also allows you to come into contact with the wet area of the Lame, where herons and flamingos rest. With the Guide you can reach the coast where we find kilometers of pristine beach, perhaps riding the peaceful dromedaries.
