From Giotto to the short supply chain: Vicchio's winning cards

Vicchio is one of the municipalities of the metropolitan city of Florence which boasts of having hosted some excellent personalities, such as Giotto, Beato Angelico and, more recently, Don Milani. There are many characteristics that make this small town a favorite with visitors, but it is certainly the name of Giotto that stands out the most. A square is dedicated to the painter, in which there is also a statue dedicated to him, and on the Vespignano hill it is possible to visit his birthplace. For the rest, Vicchio is an extremely active village that always tries to improve the infrastructure for hospitality. Another excellence of the territory is agricultural production. Among the typical products of the area there are chestnuts, but also vegetables and fruit that are sold directly and at zero kilometer. We must not forget the meat supply chain, which has even been taken as a model by the European Community. The Carni Mugello center deals with everything related to the production and processing of meat, from fodder for livestock to sale.
