A holiday in Trevignano Romano

Spending a holiday in Trevignano Romano can be very pleasant. In fact, there are many activities to be carried out, especially related to the fact that the town overlooks Lake Bracciano. You can therefore practice outdoor sports, such as sailing. But the village of the city is also interesting to visit. Trevignano has an ancient history: it was an Etruscan settlement before the territory passed into the hands of the Romans in 387 BC. The name comes from the Roman noble family who built a sumptuous villa here, the gens Trebonia. Today many of the Etruscan and Roman finds found in the area are exhibited at the Civic Archaeological Museum. If you stay by the lake there is a beautiful lakeside promenade on which to walk to get to the center, where you can admire the churches of Santa Caterina and Santa Maria Assunta. From the village there are various trekking paths, or to go by bike, and you can go up to see the ancient fortress, mostly destroyed, and admire the surrounding landscape.
